Is AI making us lazier or smarter?

ADHD, productivity, and digital detox

Aloha friends! πŸ‘‹πŸŒ΄

I've just returned from a blissful week in Menorca, where I embraced a full digital detox.

No work apps, no social media, not even a peek at the news. Just sun, sea, and good food! And I managed to read 3 books in 6 days πŸ˜„

It was exactly what I needed to recharge my batteries, and now I'm back, ready to dive into the exciting world of AI once again! What’s in store today?

πŸ“Š The Great AI Debate: Lazier or Smarter?

The responses to my LinkedIn poll on whether AI is making us lazier or smarter have been very interesting. Have you already voted?

Here are some thought-provoking comments:

"As someone with ADHD, AI has significantly improved my life. It helps manage my daily tasks and reminders, reducing the overwhelm that often accompanies ADHD. AI-driven tools provide structure and organization, allowing me to maintain focus and productivity." - Yush.

"The main thing I refuse to do is let AI write for me. I feel like I've spent my entire life honing my writing skills, so I'm not going to cede them to AI." - Heather.

πŸ€– The Rise (and Fall) of AI "Employees"

Earlier today I shared a post about the future of AI "employees" that sparked quite a discussion. If you haven't seen it yet, check it out here.

In an interesting turn of events, Lattice, the HR company that announced it would be "the first to give digital workers official employee records," has now backtracked after significant backlash. Their initial announcement raised questions about the implications of treating AI as employees, leading to concerns from HR professionals and AI experts alike.

This situation highlights the complex challenges we face as AI becomes more integrated into our workplaces. It's a reminder that while AI has enormous potential, we need to approach its implementation thoughtfully and ethically.

What are your thoughts on this? How do you see the role of AI in the workplace evolving? Share your perspective in the comments of my LinkedIn post!

That's all for this week, folks! I hope this newsletter has given you some food for thought and inspiration for navigating the exciting world of AI.

Wishing you a fantastic week ahead filled with innovation, learning, and maybe even a little AI-assisted magic. πŸ˜‰

Stay curious and keep pushing boundaries!

Aloha,

Iwo
